Make Sure Your Vote Counts: Tips for the Election

✓ The Type of Election to Expect in Your County
    ✓ Mail Ballot election

✓ Voting Locations leading up to and on Election Day
    ✓ Designated Mail-in Ballot Drop-Off Locations

2. BRING an ID to the POLLS! (see list of acceptable IDs below)

3. Mail Ballots. Voting by mail? Look for your ballot to arrive soon, don’t lose it – vote it!
✓ If this is your first time voting in Colorado or in the county where you currently live, you must include a copy of your identification (see list of IDs) when you mail in your ballot.

✓ If your ballot does not arrive, or you misplace or destroy it, you can get a replacement from your County Clerk or cast a provisional ballot at a polling location.

4. If you are planning to vote at an Early Voting location, check the hours for your county. The hours will vary by county and by location.

5. On Election Day, polls (designated Voter Service Centers) are open from 7am to 7pm. Avoid the rush by voting 9am-11am or 1pm-4pm. If you are in line at 7pm, then you have the right to vote.

6. If you are a registered voter, but do not have ID or do not show up on the voter list for any reason, you have the right to cast a provisional ballot. Fill out the provisional ballot form as completely as possible and ask any questions you have!

7. Time Off from Work. Most people have the right to miss up to two hours of work in order to go to their polling place. You must inform your employer of the need to take this time PRIOR to Election Day.
